About the Plan

A modern plan for the Bayside area is in the works. City Council gave the approval to start developing a long range, 20-year plan. Boundaries for this area are Morgan Avenue on the north, South Padre Island Drive (SH 358) on the south, Ocean Drive/Oso Bay on the east, and the Crosstown Expressway (SH 286) on the west. This plan will give guidance for future development in the area and identify opportunities to improve existing facilities.

The current plan, adopted in 1995, no longer reflects the current conditions of the area. A new planning process will get updated feedback from the public on existing conditions and the community’s priorities and goals. Once this is complete, the community will identify action steps to achieve goals. Action steps could be an improvement project to city infrastructure or changes to City policy.

Community involvement will be a key part of the process. Over the next year, there will be multiple ways to participate such as surveys and public meetings. Click here to receive email updates about the Bayside Area Development Plan.

    Bayside Plan Survey #2 (Sept. 26 - Oct. 23, 2023)

    The City of Corpus Christi is in the process of creating a long-range plan for the Bayside area. We want your help to make sure that the plan represents the community’s wishes. This survey is your opportunity to tell us how we’re doing and help shape the future of Bayside. We will use your input to improve the draft plan. Please take a moment to complete this survey and share your thoughts. The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete, with an option to answer more questions that may take another 5 minutes.
