About the Project
The City of Corpus Christi worked with the Freese and Nichols planning team to create a new Westside Area Development Plan. This plan will give guidance for future development in the area and identify opportunities to improve existing facilities. The Plan will include conceptual drawings and strategies to bring the ideas in the Plan to reality.

The planning team used the community’s input to create the plan. Two community meetings/open houses, two surveys, five advisory committee meetings, and four focus group meetings were held over the last two years to gather input. Review the "Project Documents" section to the right for more information.

What neighborhoods does this study area include?
The "Westside Plan" includes neighborhoods such as Westside, Molina, Cliff Maus, La Cuarenta, New Addition, Saxet Heights, Westgate Heights, Highland Estates, Oak Park, Westchester Place, Ebony Acres, Mobile Estates, Dona Park, Academy Heights, Las Colonias, Los Encinos, and others (see the study area map).

-We desperately need more trees & need these dogs off the streets.
-And as far as flooding goes, we need an update to our system to help us guide the waters from our homes.
-investment in our community; local shops; local live music events

Please take the time to add some cycling things for the huge bicycle community in this town. So far, everytime something is done, all the cycling related ideas are deleted from the plan

Please consider making bike trails separate from walking trails as it’s part of municipal code to separate the two and bicycle impeding foot traffic is not permissible. Please also include public bike fix stations. Thank you for your consideration.

Is your future planning map off? It seems that Trojan Dr is on the wrong side of West Point. Map is missing National Dr. and Linda Vista on the other side of West Point. The other Columbia St is missing. There are two Columbia's divided a ditch.

Start off by improving the streets. Improvements in lighting around the parks would deter vandalism. Biking trails would also be appreciated.

Good evening
I would like to see street improvements, affordable housing and shopping opportunities. Improve police presence and transit.
I applaud the city for conducting this study, but I wonder if this is just a pipe dream.

The permanent open spaces, residential home increase, and the development of stores and programs within the area. I like the shops to be added.

Do analysis to identify exactly what the problem(s) are in the area in question. I imagine fatherless homes, high teen pregnancy rate, quality of life issues, high dropout rate lead the way. Then set short term goals and make measurable progress.
